Which employment posters are required?
Q: A company called me saying I need to purchase certain posters to display in my business to comply with state and federal employment laws. Do I have to buy these posters?
A: Employers are required to display certain posters informing employees of their rights under state and federal law.
These posters are free from government agencies. Below is a list of the required posters and the agency you should contact to receive a free copy. Additional postings may be required for certain businesses. Agencies now make the required posters available for download from their websites.
Some businesses find it more convenient to purchase posters that combine the numerous required notices into two large, laminated posters (one each for federal and state requirements). Michigan Retailers Association sells these labor law posters. Call MRA at 800.366.3669 to purchase full-color, laminated labor law posters.
