Session Adjournment Near

With repeal of the services tax a reality, legislators are wrapping up last minute issues prior to adjourning for the year. There is a possibility of adjourning at the end of this week, but it may still be necessary for lawmakers to return for a few days next week. They are scheduled to return to work on January 9 for the final year of the two-year session.

Most of the work will actually be completed in committees this week, with ratification of the Great Lakes Compact at the forefront. Other issues include prohibiting retailers from accepting out-of-state bottle deposits, requirements for lead product recalls, and limiting electric choice.
