The Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) has promoted four staff members: John Mayleben, Thomas Tuggle, Scott Norman and Susan Stroup.
Mayleben, MRA's director of sales, was promoted to vice president, sales and marketing. He will coordinate the association's membership services. A resident of Whitmore Lake, Mayleben has a degree in marketing from Western Michigan University and has worked for MRA for more than 14 years, beginning as a regional marketing representative.
Tuggle, formerly bank development manager, was promoted to director of sales and community banking. He lives in Williamston and began his career at MRA in 1993 as a regional marketing representative.
Norman, a regional marketing representative, was promoted to senior marketing representative. He will also continue to serve members in the Central Michigan area. Norman, a resident of Holt, owned and managed one of his family's two retail furniture stores before coming to MRA in 1998.
Stroup was promoted from customer service representative to manager, customer service. A Lansing resident, she has been with MRA since 1998 and has eight years of prior experience as a retail manager for The Limited stores.
The Michigan Retailers Association is the unified voice of retailing in Michigan and the nation's largest state trade association of general merchandise retailers. MRA's more than 5,000 retail business members operate more than 12,000 stores across the state.
