Four members of the Michigan Retailers Association Board of Directors were re-elected at the Association's Annual Meeting, held June 27. Each will serve a three-year term.
The newly re-elected directors are:
Jan Hayhow, president and general manager of Lansing-based Michigania, Inc., and a member of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago's Advisory Council on Agriculture, Labor and Small Business. She was first elected to the MRA Board in 1994 and is completing her second year as chair.
Joseph McCurry, district general manager for Sears, Roebuck and Co., responsible for the Detroit district's 17 stores and more than 4,000 employees. He was elected to the MRA board in 1997.
Larry Mullins, owner of Brandon Tire & Battery in Ortonville. He is a former chairman of Michigan Retailers Services, Inc., and was elected to the MRA Board in 1996.
Peter Sobelton, owner-operator of Sundries Plus in Troy and previous owner of Churchill's Ltd. tobacco and gift stores. He was elected to the MRA board in 1998.
The Michigan Retailers Association is the unified voice of retailing in Michigan and the nation's largest state trade association of general merchandise retailers. MRA's more than 5,500 retail business members operate more than 12,000 stores across the state.
