Seminars to help retailers combat shoplifting and fraudThe Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) and three Oakland County shopping centers are teaming up to bring an informative loss prevention seminar to retailers. Troy police officers Kirk Linton and Jay Reynolds will show retailers how to protect their merchandise from thieves by instituting effective crime prevention policies. Retailers will learn how to spot suspicious behaviors and prevent shoplifting and other retail crimes, including check fraud, embezzlement, counterfeiting and credit card fraud. "Don't Get Ripped Off by Shoplifters" will be presented on the following three dates: Tuesday, October 9, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 16, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 23, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Cost: $15 for MRA members and co-sponsor tenants, $25 for non-members To register: Contact MRA's Robin Gregory at 800.366.3699 or rsgregory@retailers.com.
