Michigan Retailers Association
launches
online loss prevention seminars
The Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) has added two
new seminars to its slate of online business courses.
The new seminars focus on loss prevention for retail stores
and are designed to provide an interactive learning experience for retailers
and their employees. Topics covered include bad checks, credit card fraud,
shoplifting, employee theft, counterfeit currency, returns and layaways.
The seminars can be accessed via MRA's website at www.retailers.com.
Cost of either seminar is $30 for MRA members and $40 for non-members.
"MRA's series of loss prevention booklets has been very
popular with retailers," said Kelly Hayes, MRA's manager of education
and events. "Now the information in these booklets is available online
in an easy-to-use format that reinforces the information with interactive
graphics and sound."
The online courses are offered by MRA in partnership with
LearnSomething.com, a web-based, distance-learning provider. The Association
offers seven additional courses on topics such as preventing sexual harassment,
website development and business skills development.
The Michigan Retailers Association is the unified voice
of retailing in Michigan and the nation's largest state trade association
of general merchandise retailers. MRA's more than 5,500 retail business
members operate more than 12,000 stores across the state.
