Sweet Madness Candies, a small business in White Lake, has opened shop in the Mall of Michigan, an Internet retailing and shopping service operated by the Michigan Retailers Association (MRA).

Shoppers can access Sweet Madness Candies online through the Mall of Michigan at www.mallofmichigan.com. The site is listed in the Gifts section.

Sweet Madness Candies offers a unique product-candy plates to be broken as part of a wedding tradition or to express madness (or just for fun). “If you've ever been mad enough to want to break a plate, these are for you!” said owner Judy Cerano.

Manufactured by Fabiano's Candies in Lansing, the plates come in clear cellophane bags so the broken plates can be enjoyed after being shattered. They come in six flavor/color combinations, including Michigan Cherry and Pina Colada; special orders offer even more flavor/color combinations when a minimum order is placed.

The store's website offers detailed information about both retail and wholesale purchases, with a special section for brides. Shoppers may learn how to order the plates or find a store location among the numerous retail locations around Michigan that offer them, from Grand Haven to Saginaw and from Mackinaw City to Birmingham. Retailers may enquire about carrying the plates in their stores.
