Saks rescues Fash Bash

Saks Fifth Avenue is the new retail sponsor of Fash Bash, the annual gala fundraiser for the Detroit Institute of Arts. The event, to be held at the Fox Theatre in downtown Detroit on August 9, will feature fashions supplied by Saks and the music of legendary Detroit stars such as Iggy Pop, Ted Nugent, Bob Seger, Aretha Franklin and MC5.

Tickets are available by calling the DIA at 313.833.6954.

Marshall Field’s (formerly Hudson’s) had sponsored Fash Bash for decades.

Tire Wholesalers Inc. in Troy announced a 44,000-square-foot expansion that will double the size of its warehouse. Scheduled for completion in the fall, the expansion will enable Tire Wholesalers to deliver to any business in the metropolitan Detroit area within four hours.

“With the proliferation of tire sizes, there are very few tire businesses that can locate virtually any size tire and deliver it the same day,” said President Ross Kogel. “That’s a great service for tire dealers, who are experiencing pressure from their customers to have the right tire immediately.”
