Foundation aims for growth

The MRA Board of Directors is developing a fundraising strategy to boost giving to Michigan Retailers Foundation. The plan will advance the Association’s goal of more than doubling the foundation’s assets to $1 million in order to continue aggressive growth in the scholarship program.

“The scholarship program is a great benefit for retail families in Michigan. Interest from members has increased every year,” said James P. Hallan, MRA president and chief operating officer. “Our goal is to give larger awards to more students. We’d like to see this program keep growing and become an even more valuable benefit of MRA membership.”

Michigan Retailers Foundation is a nonprofit organization, so contributions are tax-deductible. Members who donate or pledge $10,000 or more can have a permanent scholarship established in their name.

To contribute, contact MRA’s Retha Lachance at 800.366.3699 or rlachance@retailers.com.
