Greatest Little Show lives up to its billing

The Michigan Jewelry Show added to its 95-year tradition of quality by bringing superb professional training, merchandise and camaraderie to Michigan jewelers gathered at the Hilton Novi during the weekend of March 1-3.

The “Greatest Little Show in the Midwest” lived up to its billing by including a dozen seminars, a two-day trade show, the annual Jewelers Breakfast and Jewelry Design Competition Awards, and a replay of last year’s highly entertaining and informative “Who Wants To Be a Diamondaire?”

GIA’s new advanced seminar and core gemology classes, as well as Jewelers of America® professional certification tests, also were held in connection with the show.

“If you missed the show, you missed a great weekend,” said Kevin Kiska, president of the sponsoring Michigan Jewelers Association.

“The reviews from jewelers and exhibitors have been excellent, and there was a lot of enthusiasm throughout the weekend. Jewelers had excellent opportunities to buy for their stores, enhance their skills and professionalism, and network within their industry.”

The date and location of the 2003 show will be announced by early May, according to Kelly Hayes, MRA manager of education and events.
