Amy Buttery joins MRA staff as writer

Amy V. Buttery has joined the communications team at Michigan Retailers Association. She is responsible for MRA print- and web-based articles, as well as marketing, public relations and promotional pieces.

Buttery has been writing for the Association on a contract basis since April and began as a full-time employee in June.

Before joining MRA, Buttery taught college-level writing and worked as a medical writer. Most recently, she taught writing and communications at Baker College in Owosso.

A Michigan native and graduate of Kalamazoo College, Buttery and her family moved back to Michigan in 2001 after 20 years of living around the country.

“I loved many of the places I’ve lived, especially the Northwest. But Michigan is a beautiful state, and I want my sons to think of Michigan as their home.

“I am thoroughly enjoying my assignments so far at MRA. I’ve already gained a profound respect for the retail industry through my contact with members around the state and made some good friends in the bargain,” said Buttery.

Buttery and her husband, Rob, live in Lansing with their two young sons, Ben and Michael.
