Get ready to name '03 Retailer of Year

continued from page 1

It’s time to start thinking about an outstanding community-minded retail business you can nominate for 2003 Michigan Retailer of the Year.

MRA will begin accepting nominations in late June for the awards that honor “the best of the best” businesses that make a significant, positive impact in their communities through involvement in and support of civic, charitable and volunteer programs.

This is the sixth year for the awards, which are divided into small, medium and large retail categories. Nomination forms will be mailed to all MRA members and a form included in the June Michigan Retailer. Nominations also will be accepted at MRA’s website, www.retailers.com.

The awards luncheon will be held October 14 in Lansing. Nomination forms will be due August 8, and the nominees will have until September 5 to return their more detailed nominee forms.

MRA will again be recognizing Michigan Centennial Retailers as part of the Retailer of the Year Awards program.

Retail businesses that began in 1903 or earlier and have not already been recognized by MRA are eligible for inclusion in this year’s program. Centennial forms also will be available in late June.
