Directors, trustees re-elected

Four members of the MRA Board of Directors were re-elected at the Association’s Annual Meeting on June 29 at Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island.

Participants of Retailers Fund, MRA’s self-funded workers’ compensation insurance program, also re-elected four members of the fund’s Board of Trustees at their Annual Meeting immediately following the MRA session.

Re-elected to three-year terms on the MRA board were:

• W. Bruce Rogers, past chairman of the board and retired president of the former Bartling’s, Inc., Traverse City.

• Douglas A. Schubot, chairman of Jules R. Schubot Jewelers, a third-generation, family-owned business in Troy.

• Barb Stein, owner/operator of Great Northern Trading Co., Rockford, a specialty gifts and home décor store she opened in 1977.

• Joe Swanson, north metro Detroit district team leader for Target Corporation.

Re-elected to three-year terms on the Retailers Fund board were:

• James P. Hallan, Retailers Fund administrator and MRA president and chief operating officer.

• Joseph Kay, co-owner of Northland Tire and Service, Inc., an automotive service facility established in Southfield in 1981.

• Dan Marshall, chairman of the board and president of Marshall Music Company, one of the largest full-line music retailers in the country.

• Barb Tronstein, vice president in charge of finances and operations for Warren-based Gardner-White, which operates six furniture stores in the metropolitan Detroit area.
