Scholarship deadline approaches

April 1 is the deadline for MRA college scholarship applications. Members were mailed detailed information about the scholarship program in early February.

This year, the number of scholarships available has risen to at least 20, due to increased assets in the Michigan Retailers Foundation. In addition, students who will attend public universities will now receive $1,000, up from $750 last year. Students who will attend a community college will receive $500.

To be eligible, the student or parent must work at an MRA-member business. High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors may apply. Financial need is not a consideration.
