Directors re-elect officers for 2005-06

Larry Mullins, of Brandon Tire & Battery in Ortonville, was re-elected chair of the MRA Board of Directors Executive Committee at the August 15 board meeting. It’s his second year as chair.

Peter Sobelton, of Sundries Plus in Troy, was re-elected chair-elect of the Executive Committee.

D. Larry Sherman, retired owner of the former Sherman Shoes in Birmingham, was re-elected treasurer. Larry Meyer remains as MRA chairman and CEO, and James P. Hallan continues as president and chief operating officer.

The Retailers Fund Board of Trustees elected Rod Phillips, of Country Casuals in Petoskey, as chair. He succeeds Ray Rau, of Oscar Rau’s Fine Furniture and Interiors in Frankenmuth.

Trustees also elected Joe Kay, of Northland Tire & Service in Southfield, as vice chair.

Other continuing Retailers Fund officers from MRA are Chairman and CEO Meyer, Chief Operating Officer and Fund Administrator Hallan and Jean Sarasin, secretary and treasurer.
