Retailer of Year nominations due

Time is running out to nominate an outstanding community-minded retail business for 2006 Michigan Retailer of the Year.

The annual awards honor retailers who make a significant positive impact in their communities through their involvement in and support of civic, charitable and volunteer programs. A business may nominate itself, and businesses that were not selected in a past year may try again.

Nominate a retailer via the Internet at www.retailers.com or by requesting a nomination form from MRA’s Retha Lachance at 800.366.3699. They’re due August 11.

MRA is also seeking 100-year-old businesses for the Michigan Centennial Retailer program. The awards for Retailer of the Year and Centennial Retailer will be presented at a luncheon October 10 in Lansing.
