Smith resigns from MRA board

A transfer to Illinois caused Winfrey Smith to resign from MRA’s board of directors.

Smith, who was district manager for Sears in eastern Michigan, was transferred in January to the retailer’s corporate headquarters in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, where he will be the eastern regional manager for The Great Indoors, part of the Sears Holdings Corporation’s family of businesses.

Smith joined MRA’s board in April 2004, filling the vacancy left by Jim Schwark’s departure in 2003.

“I was very impressed with the level of professionalism and dedication from the entire organization,” said Smith. “It was a wonderful experience.”

“We thank Winfrey for his service to the board and wish him well in Chicagoland,” said Larry Meyer, MRA CEO and Chairman.

Smith’s seat on the board is not expected to be filled, Meyer said.
