Deadline approaches for scholarship apps

April 2 is the deadline for MRA college scholarship applications for the 2007-2008 academic year. Members were mailed detailed information about the scholarship program in early February.

At least 36 scholarships are available, funded through earnings on the assets of Michigan Retailers Foundation. Awards are $1,000 for public or private college students and $500 for community college students.

To be eligible, the student or a parent or guardian must work at an MRA-member business. High school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores and juniors may apply. Financial need is not a consideration.
