MRA offers My Blue health plans

Michigan Retailers Association is offering My Blue, the new suite of individual health plan options from Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan. The new plans are designed to cover individuals and their families at all stages of life, from recent college graduates to those approaching retirement.

“Each member’s situation is different,” explained Linda Pollock, MRA’s insurance sales representative. “We are pleased to have these plans available because it allows the Association to offer something for everyone.”

In late March, MRA made available a new online enrollment system that allows members to learn more about My Blue, including rates and details on coverage. Members may then choose to enroll online, simply and with less paperwork.

Below is an overview of the four new individual health plans.

Individual Care Blue
• Prescription drug coverage
• Preventive care and office visits
• Affordable copays and no deductible
• Flexible Blue Individual Dental optional
• Low monthly premiums

Value Blue
• Low monthly premiums with higher out-of-pocket expenses
• Affordable copays
• Prescription drug discounts through the Affinity Rx discount drug program

Young Adult Blue
• Offered to individuals 19 to 30
• Premiums less than $48 a month
• Prescription drug discounts through the Affinity Rx discount drug program

Flexible Blue
• Tax-free investment earnings
• Year-to-year rollover
• Preventive care and office visits
• Prescription drug benefits
• Flexible Blue Individual Dental and maternity benefits optional
