MRA announces two promotions, new hire

LANSING – Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) announced the promotions of Lansing area residents Ally Nemetz andAmy Drumm and the hiring of Dave Papp of Ann Arbor.

Nemetz was promoted to director, customer service and data administration. She now supervises two areas vital to providing members with efficient and accurate delivery of a wide range of membership services.

She joined MRA in January 1997 as a customer service representative and was promoted to manager of customer data in September 1997.

A graduate of Suomi College in Hancock, she is a resident of Perry.

Drumm, MRA’s point person in the Capitol on legislative issues, was named director of government affairs.

She joined MRA in 2012 as legislative coordinator after serving as legislative director for then-State Rep. Sharon Tyler. She was named MRA’s manager of government affairs in 2013.

A Lansing Township resident, she is a graduate of the University of Michigan.

Papp, an expert at servicing computer and technology systems, joined MRA as manager of information technology.

He was previously with The Learning Center in Ann Arbor and worked with MRA, a client of The Learning Center, on a weekly basis for more than 10 years. He earned his degree in computer engineering from the University of Michigan.

All the changes took effect January 1.

Michigan Retailers Association represents nearly 5,000 member businesses and their more than 15,000 stores and websites. MRA has been a trusted business resource for 75 years and provides cost-saving membership services such as expert credit card processing, business and personal insurances, legislative advocacy and discounts on shipping.
