After 85 years of advocacy and service to the state’s retailers and small businesses, Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) is proud to announce its new logo and brand. This brand reflects the growth and evolution of Michigan’s retail industry, and emphasizes our commitment to supporting the future of our state’s small business community.
“Michigan Retailers Association exists for the good of retail. With members from all shapes, sizes, and business models, our membership represents the entire retail industry, extending beyond traditional storefronts, including e-commerce brands, service-based businesses, and other non-traditional retailers,” said President and CEO, William J. Hallan. “We recognize retail aspects in every business and are here to support their success.”
MRA, founded in 1940, represents approximately 5,000 businesses and their 15,000 stores and websites. As the nation’s largest state retail trade association, MRA provides legislative advocacy and cost-saving services to member businesses, such as merchant processing solutions, workers’ compensation and group insurances, discounts, college scholarships, and the Buy Nearby program.
The new MRA logo features an “R” brandmark with a subtle shopping bag in the negative space, paying homage to the membership that MRA represents: Retailers. The brand uses a mixture of smooth curves and sharp corners that speak to what MRA is – a friend to businesses of all kinds and a fierce defender of the retail industry.
“Our team has worked diligently over the past several months to develop a brand that we are deeply proud to unveil. Bringing this project together has been a testament to the commitment our Association has for its members,” said Vic Veda, VP, Communications at MRA. “This brand will empower the Association to continue its mission of advocating for the retail industry and serving future generations of retailers for another 85 years and beyond.”
