Statewide Primary Election: Tuesday, August 4, 2026 General Election: Tuesday, November 3, 2026

MRA’s Friends of Retail are candidates who, through their responses to our survey or key votes, have demonstrated awareness of retail’s top issues and are working to make Michigan a friendly environment for retailers and small businesses.
Note: the “Friend of Retail” designation is not a formal endorsement; it is possible for more than one candidate in a given race to receive the Friend of Retail designation. Check the list to see which candidates have received the designation in races you care about most.

And how they're impacted this election
Dynamic pricing is the practice of adjusting prices in response to changing market conditions, such as demand, inventory levels, or competitors' prices. When used in retail, it is most commonly employed in the service of customer loyalty programs, creating customized discounts for consumers.
This year, the Michigan legislature passed a bipartisan state budget with no new revenue sources or tax increases—but we’ve got to stay alert for new attempts to increase costs for Michigan’s business community.
Beyond mere shoplifting, organized retail crime stems from sophisticated multi-state criminal groups who steal products from store shelves and warehouses to resell in a secondary market. We support efforts to curb this illegal activity that harms retailers and shoppers alike.
