Lynch Sales Company receives Centennial honors

GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) presented a special plaque and certificate to Lynch Sales Company in Grand Rapids in honor of the company’s 100th anniversary.

MRA President and CEO James P. Hallan made the presentation to Judson Lynch, co-CEO of the company, at Lynch’s Grand Rapids office.

The Lansing-based statewide trade association began recognizing 100-year-old retail businesses in 2000. It has honored 88 centennials so far.

The company founded by Joseph P. Lynch in 1914 is credited with inventing the furniture sales promotion business as it’s known today.

Brothers Judson and Christopher Lynch, grandsons of the founder and sons of Daniel L. Lynch, serve as co-CEOS of the company, which specializes in liquidation, relocation, remodeling, remerchandising, inventory reduction and cash-raising sales.

With its strong emphasis on integrity and results, the company has grown from its Grand Rapids roots to include four U.S. offices as well as operations in Canada and the United Kingdom.

Michigan Retailers Association represents nearly 5,000 member businesses and their more than 15,000 stores and websites.
